Well, it's about time I posted up some of the recent playlists... I know I've been slacking, sue me.
Our show on the 11th of March was dedicated to Funk. We, ok I, was in a mood to shake off the foul weather, bring out the sun and start bouncing around the studio. It worked. The sun came out, the top got dropped and away we rolled!
We tapped a couple of great obscurities too - including Cork, the band whipped up by Corky Laing of Mountain during a downtime in their touring. We didn't even know what it was when he mentioned it in an interview we were doing over at Ramshead Live. Coach, the little internet scavenger that he is, worked his fingers to the nub and found out more details so we could bring it out of the darkness and into your ears.

Ok, we hit kind of hard on the classic performances from Stax, but so what? How can you not include one of the most politically and funkily active labels of the '70s? We even tapped the great performances from Wattstax and The Professor says you must go watch it. Especially the two guys with the biggest hats you've ever seen.
Yeah, the Spin Doctors aren't really 'Funk' but the track does have a classic groove to it. And Ana Popovic, well... shut up, we'll play her any time we want.
